FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There is a spot that I'd like to have painted, but it is difficult to get to. Can you still paint it?

I would definitely prefer to do initial sketches and under-paintings at your spot if I can get to it. The perspective changes so much when you work from real life vs. working from a photo alone; photos tend to squash the image and flatten it, whereas working from real life will create a painting that feels more "alive". However, if your spot is not easily accessible, or you are located out of my area, that’s okay! I can work from high quality colour photographs. The more photos you send me, the better my understanding will be of the light, shadows, etc.

What is the turnaround time for a commissioned painting?

The turnaround time depends on many factors — the size, the level of detail in the subject, and the time of year. Some months are much busier (prior to Christmas), and so the turnaround time will increase. Commissions are limited before Christmas, as it is the busiest time of year. Generally, I would estimate between 4-6 weeks for a painting under normal circumstances, with an estimate of 5-7 weeks prior to Christmas. This excludes shipping times, if applicable.

Can you create custom-size artwork?

Yes, however a custom-size canvas would have to be especially ordered and are generally more expensive. Custom-size commissions will have a surcharge to reflect this, and will likely add several weeks to the project timeline.

What is your Shipping Policy?
